Our Mission

Climb Wyoming’s mission is for low-income single mothers across the state to discover self-sufficiency through career training and job placement. As a national leader in poverty alleviation since 1986, Climb Wyoming’s comprehensive program isn’t just about getting a job – it’s about financial independence for struggling mothers and changing the generational cycle of poverty one family at a time.

As Climb Wyoming strives to serve Wyoming families most in need – single moms with children – we have a bold vision of breaking the multi-generational cycle of poverty. When a mom is employed in a stable, well-paying job with benefits, her children gain stability and have greater access to food, housing, school and activities, healthcare, and beyond. This truly gives her family a chance to not only survive, but thrive and grow in a way that positively impacts the entire state of Wyoming.

Climb strengthens Wyoming’s workforce by researching and identifying employment needs and developing innovative job training programs that meet these demands. Working in collaboration with communities and employers, we match trained and motivated Climb graduates with local employers–benefiting Wyoming’s economy and helping families become self-sufficient.

VIEW OUR IMPACT

Climb has offered on-the-job training through work experiences totaling more than 487,025 hours.

The State of Wyoming has saved over $138 million from decreased dependence on public assistance programs among Climb graduates.

Climb has served 12,000 moms and 25,000 children since 1986.

Climb Wyoming’s Proven Model of Success

Climb’s unique approach to job training revolves around the knowledge that when a mom has structure and feels safe, that’s when learning happens. Through our program, moms participate in individual and group counseling so they have an opportunity to remove barriers and find long-term success at work. This therapeutic approach also gives moms tools to model healthy behaviors for their children. More than just job placement, our model impacts the whole life of the Climb Wyoming participant.
